Join Carolyn Breaux for this intensive seminar that combines lectures and hands-on exercises to effectively teach participants to draw. The course is specifically designed for individuals who have never drawn before and who perhaps believe that learning to draw well is possible only for those lucky persons with inborn talent. For twenty years, Betty Edwards and her Associates have disproved this widely held belief. Given proper instruction, the basic perceptual skills of drawing can be taught and learned in as briefly as five days. From that point onward, as with any newly learned activity, practice ‘sets’ the skill.
In this absorbing and challenging workshop, Carolyn Breaux will use a carefully sequenced step-by-step process established by Betty Edward, and small group instruction to teach students the basic strategies of ‘seeing.’ This enables students to draw their perceptions with a high degree of skill. No experience in art is required for this course. It is highly recommended for anyone with an interest in drawing and creativity.
